Today, we met again after 7 years...
Have you had experience of hiring a candidate to become your boss?
7 years ago I had a mission to hire my boss so that I could learn and grow from him / her as I was young and had no management and leadership skills to build and lead a new organization starting from the green field.
I was carrying on that mission... and I was aware at any moment I could be replaced with someone else...
But I kept trying and I was accepting the fact that I would not receive any investment for my personal development on my temp role.
And I also kept trying harder and I was also accepting that we offered someone to go abroad earning an MBA for a year and then to take over my temp role.
The more I tried harder and the more I felt hurt and sad at the end... of how we ended! especially, as a professional hired for the job, I had to tell what I did not believe in the new vision. We had debated for a year and at the moment the debate became dictating then I had no more energy to debate further on of proving who is right and who is wrong.
Today of a year ago I announced to the former colleagues of my leave and also today I met again one of the candidates that I tried to hire as my boss 7 years ago. I told him honestly how happy I was when he did not accept the job... so I had a great opportunity to be of myself of today: failing, learning and moving!
Am I happy? Definitely but lonely at the top to be honest! 🙂
And many untold stories that I have been drafting in my #space_19 book that I am planning to publish in 2020; advised to write them down from my life coach. Or should I publish the book in 2050? 😕
